Super Bowl 60 will take place on Sunday, February 8th at 6 p.m. ET at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, home of the San Francisco 49ers. The New England Patriots will face the Seattle Seahawks in a matchup loaded with history and high stakes.
It has been seven years since the New England Patriots last appeared in the Super Bowl. In 2019, they defeated the Los Angeles Rams 13–3 to capture their sixth championship. At that time, the Patriots were a dynasty led by future Hall of Famer Tom Brady. On Sunday, they’ll be led by second‑year quarterback Drake Maye, who has taken the team by storm this season with 31 touchdowns, 4,394 yards, and a second‑place finish in MVP voting.
For the Seahawks, this marks their first Super Bowl appearance since Super Bowl XLIX eleven years ago, also against the Patriots. That game ended in one of the most controversial finishes in Super Bowl history, as Seattle chose not to run the ball from the 1‑yard line, leading to a Patriots’ victory. This time, the Seahawks enter as the favorites, thanks to the play of quarterback Sam Darnold and a strong defensive unit.
Much of the media talk this week suggests the Patriots are headed for a blowout loss. My view is different. I have the Patriots winning, based on what they’ve shown on both sides of the ball throughout the playoffs, especially in their road victory over the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game.
Let’s see what happens!
